The History of Aston Martin

In 1913, Bam ford and Martin Limited was founded in London, a year later the Aston Martin name was created. In 1921 the first Aston Martin competition car made it's appearance.


In 1922, they had made an appearance overseas at the French Grand Prix. Four years later, Aston Martin Motors Ltd. was formed and was set up in Feltham. Two years after that, they had their first entry in a 24-hour Le Mans race.


In 1937, the had produced 140 cars, this figure was the highest pre-war production. Seven years later, David Brown bought Aston Martin Motors Limited and Lagonda. In 1954, David Brown ended up buying Tickford and moved his production to Newport Pagnell. Five years later, Aston Martin had won the World Sportscar Championship in Nurburgring.


In 1964, An Aston Martin DB5 appears as James Bond's car in the movie Golgfinger. In 1981, Victor Gauntlett and Pace Petroleum had acquired Aston Martin. Six years later, Ford bought 75% of Aston Martin's compay shares.


In 1994, Ford bought the rest os Aston Martin's company shares. In 2003, Gaydon manufacturing facility is opened. It was the first purpose built factory in Aston Martin's history.
